This is the most famous place in Sylhet. Hundreds of people visit this place everyday from various places. This is the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (R). Unfortunately this place is full of cheaters, drug addicted people and hijackers. You’ll find lots people who are talking drugs. If you are a visitor please keep away from them.

Amazing place in this country.Very sensitive area and Religion place...(Shah Jalal, was a celebrated Sufi figure of Bengal. His name is often associated with the Conquest of Sylhet and the spread of Islam into the region, part of a long history of interactions between the Middle East, Turkestan, and South Asia)

One of the holiest places in Sylhet.
People travel from all over the country to Shahjalal and Shahporan Mazar.
I personally do nor support a Mazar culture.
However, Shahjalal offers the biggest prayer gathering in Sylhet.
Still worth a visit.
Please be aware as there are pickpocketers about.
And DO NOT buy any candles or 'Agar Batti' as they are resold over and over again. Only certain individuals benefit.

Who does not want to visit or travel the shrine of Hazrat Shajalal (RAH) in Sylhet? The Graveyard or Mazar (Majar) is an attractive place for the Muslims. As they think he is one of the saint who made Sylhet area significant for Islamic believers.

In 2018, our circle of friends went to Sylhet from Noakhali. We went in winter. At that time the environment was very cold. I went to Shahjalal Rahimahullah shrine first. Although everything is fine, it is sad to say that there are increasing numbers of marijuana addicts and pickpockets. I would like to draw the attention of all those in charge there, if these things are not brought under control, then we will have to face many bad situations in the future.
