The 67 acre Independence Museum is located at the Suhrawardy Udyan, the place where, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman gave his historic speech declaring the struggle for independence, and where the Pakistani forces surrendered after the War of Liberation.

national monument in Bangladesh to commemorate the historical events that took place in the Suhrawardy Udyan, previously known as Ramna Race Course ground regarding the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.
The government of Bangladesh took the initiative to build the monument in 1996. The construction began in 1999. Kashef Mahboob Chowdhury and Marina Tabassum designed the project. The main attraction of the project is a 50-meter high tower composed of stacked glass panels, which stands at the place where the Pakistani Instrument of Surrender was signed at the end of the war.

It was a great place to learn about liberation of war (1971). The photos were triggering! A good place to bring family and friends. Especially for children to learn the history of Bangladesh liberation war. The ambience was surreal. Very good experience content wise but a few photos were repeated not sure why. You can spend hours just by looking at the items but it was difficult to stay longer because there was no fan or ac , so it was hot. The restroom is upstairs in the right side when you enter first. I have uploaded the photos where you can see the ticket price. Usually no wait but during public holiday, there can be crowds. Better to go early morning. Would highly recommend.
